    Why you'll love this recipe

Easy Dip. This Greek yogurt dill dip isn't just for veggies-use it as a spread for Bagels, Focaccia, or even sandwiches for a creamy, herby kick, just like Scallion Cream Cheese.

Pairs with Everything. Serve it with crunchy veggies, pita chips, grilled meats, or drizzle it over Roasted Potato Salad-this dip is as easy to use as it is to make!

Marinade. The fresh dill, garlic, and lime make this dip perfect for marinating proteins like Barramundi, Salmon, or Roast Chicken, adding a zesty depth of flavour before grilling or roasting.

Creamy. Made with protein-rich Greek yogurt, this dip delivers a creamy texture without heavy ingredients, just like the yogurt-based sauces in Tuna Pasta Salad, Creamy Orange Balsamic Dressing, and the Herby Sauce on Baked Cauliflower.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

Fresh Dill, Garlic and Lime. I highly recommend using fresh ingredients as it is a very simple sauce recipe and fresh ingredients will make a large difference in the overall flavour. You can substitute with dried/jarred/bottled if ingredients can't be found, but the overall flavour will be different.

Greek Yogurt and Mayonnaise. I use majority of Greek yogurt with only a bit of mayonnaise to round it out. You can adjust the ratio depending on your preferences.

Swap with plant-based yogurt for dairy-free. You can also add in some sour cream for a slightly different taste.

Onion Granules, Salt and Pepper, Chilli Flakes. Adjust these to your preferences. Add small amounts at a time, taste and adjust further.

Please check the recipe card for full list of ingredients and quantity.

    Top Tip

Adjust the flavours to your preferences. Like onion? Add more onion granules. Like a bit of spice? Add some chilli flakes.

    Serve with

an image of a hand holding a cracker with dip

You can serve the dip up with some fresh veggie sticks or crackers for an easy protein-fuelled snack recipe for your week of meal prepping. It can be easily transported, making it perfect for those on-the-go.

For meal prep, portion the dip into small containers for easy grab-and-go servings.

If you're after something a little bit more filling, try pairing with a Homemade Bagel or Small Batch Focaccia Bread for a heartier snack.

The dill, garlic and lime also work well as a marinade for proteins like a Roast Chicken or Barramundi, or even paired with roasted vegetables like a Roast Potato Salad, Bacon Wrapped Asparagus or a Whole Baked Cauliflower

    Storing

Store Greek yogurt dill dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. The flavours will continue to develop as it sits, making it even better after a few hours. Stir before serving, as natural separation may occur.

    Meal Prep Options

I've used this dip recipe in a couple of Meal Plans (including this one which has a grocery list and downloadable PDF) as it's a quick and easy recipe to make alongside main Meal Preps and Breakfast Meal Preps. Check out my Meal Prepping Hub for more.

    FAQs

Can you freeze Greek yogurt dip?

Freezing is not recommended due to the high dairy content, which can cause the dip to separate and become grainy when thawed.

Can I use dried dill instead of fresh?

Yes, but fresh dill gives the best flavor. If using dried, use about one-third of the amount since dried herbs are more concentrated.

Can I use this dip as a salad dressing?

Yes! Thin it out with a little water or lemon juice for a creamy, herby dressing. It can be used instead of the Tzatziki in this Chicken Salad, Mango Salmon Salad or a BBQ Hawaiian Chicken Salad with Pineapple.

If you love a good dill and garlic yogurt dip, this one's for you. Made with Greek yogurt, fresh dill, and a hit of lime, it's the perfect balance of creamy and zesty. Pair it with crunchy veggies, slather it on a sandwich, or just eat it straight from the bowl.
Note - measurements can be approximate as it won't impact the overall dish.

    Instructions

    • Mix all ingredients together (1 cup Greek yogurt, ¼ cup mayonnaise, 3 cloves garlic (crushed), 2 tbsp chopped dill (fresh), 1 lime (juice and zest), 2 tsp granulated onions, Salt and Pepper. Can't get any more complicated than that.

    Notes

Note 1 - Greek yogurt and Mayo
I use majority of Greek yogurt because it suits my dietary needs and preferences. You can adjust the ratio to suit your preferences, but it will adjust the nutrition info listed here.
You can substitute with a dairy-free yogurt alternative, but I would recommend one that is neutral in flavour. You can also use sour cream for a slightly different tang.
Note 2 - Garlic and Dill
I highly recommend using fresh ingredients as it is a simple dip recipe and the flavours will be more prominent with fresh.
    Note 3 - Lime
I highly suggest using fresh lime juice and zest as it will give you the best "zing". You can also substitute for lemon juice and zest for a slightly different flavour.
    Serve with
Veggie sticks, crackers, Homemade Bagel or Small Batch Focaccia Bread.
Use as a marinade -  Roast Chicken or Barramundi, or even paired with roasted vegetables like a Roast Potato Salad, Bacon Wrapped Asparagus or a Whole Baked Cauliflower
    Storing
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
