Meal prepping can be overwhelming to begin with and a lot of people have no idea where or how to start. And it isn't just a few containers aesthetically lined up for Instagram.
Even if you have been meal prepping for a while, you might be getting bored and not know how to make your meals more interesting or more aligned with your goals.
What you get from this guide
This guide is 65 pages long where I will teach you meal prep basics including the different types of meal prepping (and no it's not just 4 perfectly lined up containers on a Sunday with identical food), how to balance your prep, and how to plan, store, freeze and re-heat.
I teach you some protein & carbohydrate basics, including the amounts and cost. You will learn about less famous sources of protein & carbs, how to cook and incorporate them into your diet, so you can get out of the grilled chicken and rice rut you may be in.
I will talk about vegetables and how to get the best bang for your buck, as well as consider the differences between fresh, frozen and canned produce. Then there's the shunned word of the 21st Century: FATS. I'll run you through the importance and what to look out for.
Then, my absolute favourite is FLAVOUR! I'll give you the flavour profile of herbs, spices and sauces, and how to best incorporate these into your meal preps so that you will have no excuse for boring preps.
With a few simple staple ingredients you can make a lot of marinades, sauces and spice blends to keep things really interesting.
Why should you purchase from me?
My name is Lauren Sampson and I have been meal prepping for over a decade. It all began when I first left high-school and realised that I did not have enough money to always be purchasing lunch at university. I also wanted to gain back some time during the week as I was studying full time, working part-time and an athlete representing Australia.
During my teenage years, I hated cooking and I hated being in the kitchen. I literally couldn't even boil an egg and for a very long time my lunch choices were whatever I could find in the freezer that could be microwaved, or vegemite on toast. Gradually I gained the confidence to branch out and try new foods and I am now obsessed with creating new recipes to share.
While I am not a nutritionist or dietitian, I have had experience as a customer within the industry due to my experience as an Australian level trampoline athlete for almost 2 decades. I understand the importance of fueling your body correctly to get the best out of what you want to do. For me, having meals prepped and ready to go takes the temptation away from choosing unhealthy choices that don't meet my goals.
I have tried and failed. But I have also succeeded and for over a decade, I have meal prepped almost every week. I have so many tips & tricks in my head for how to successfully meal prep and am passionate about sharing these with people to help them start or improve their meal prep journey.
What this guide is not
This is not a recipe book. But, I have given you some basic options for meal prepping with mix-and-match recipes such as stir fries, pastas and rice, as well as options for batch-cooking.
This is not a macros guide. I personally do not track macros or calories which is why I haven't included it in this guide. I don't believe they are necessary to meet your goals, however I am not discarding those who use them as a tool to ensure they are meeting their nutrition needs.
This is not a nutritionist or dietitian approved guide. I do not have qualifications to provide advice from a nutritionist or dietitian perspective. What I do have is over 10 years experience meal prepping which is what this guide is focused on. I want to share everything that I have learnt and how I have been able to maintain successful meal prepping for a decade.
