Ingredients

Garlic and ginger. Fresh is best, but powder or jarred can work as substitutes.
Sweet Chilli Sauce. The base of our recipe; choose your favorite brand or homemade version.
Paprika. Introduces a smoky depth. If you like it a bit spicier, add cayenne or chilli flakes.
Soy Sauce. Brings umami and an Asian theme to the sauce.
White Wine Vinegar. Adds acidity to balance sweetness; apple cider vinegar, white vinegar, or mirin can be alternatives.

Top Tip
For a thicker consistency, add the mixed ingredients to a sauce pan and mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water (cornflour slurry). Add while simmering and stir while thickening.

5-Minute Sweet Chilli Soy Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves, minced, see note 1
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced, see note 1
- ½ cup sweet chilli sauce, store-bought or homemade
- 1 teaspoon paprika, see note 2
- 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes, optional, see note 2
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar, subs note 3
- 2 tbsp water, adjust for consistency
Instructions
- Whisk together ingredients: 2 garlic cloves (minced), 1 teaspoon ginger (minced), ½ cup sweet chilli sauce, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, ¼ cup white wine vinegar, 2 tablespoon water
- (optional) Add to a saucepan over medium heat, let simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in the cornflour slurry (1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 teaspoon water). Remove from heat and let cool then transfer.
