Why you'll love this recipe
Variety. This homemade taco seasoning isn't just for tacos — it's delicious in recipes like Taco Beef Soup, Chicken Burrito Bowls, or sizzling Fajitas.
Roasts. Rub it all over your next Roast Chicken or Roast Pork for an easy flavor bomb without the effort.
Seafood. Yep, it's even amazing on fish. Try sprinkling it on Barramundi, Salmon, or toss it into a zesty Mexican Tuna Salad.
Vegetarian dishes. This seasoning seriously slaps on plant-based meals like Shredded Tofu Potato Nachos and crunchy Mexican Vegetable Fritters.
Ingredients

Garlic and onion granules or flakes. I recommend granules / flakes over powder as if you're storing for a longer period of time, powder can sometimes absorb moisture (especially if you're in a humid climate), and cause the mixture to go hard.
Dried oregano. Brings a herby note to balance the smokiness and spice.
Cumin powder. Earthy, smoky, and warmth.
Paprika. Use sweet paprika for a rich color and subtle heat. Smoked paprika can also work, it'll add an extra layer of depth.
Cayenne pepper (optional). For a spicy kick. Measure with your heart and spice preferences.
Salt and pepper. Use a good quality salt and freshly cracked pepper as this will elevate the mixture.
Please check the recipe card for full list of ingredients and quantity. See below for substitutions and variations.
Top Tip
Mix-and-match your seasoning to suit your preferences. If you prefer things a little more herby, add more oregano. Smoky? Use smoked paprika instead of sweet. Enjoy a hint of spice? Use a bit more cayenne, or even add some chili flakes into the mix
