These cream cheese Oreo truffles are the kind of no-bake dessert that tastes like you put in way more effort than you actually did. Five minutes of prep, 3 ingredients, and you've got a tray of bite-sized Oreo cheesecake bites that disappear almost instantly. And because they're completely no-bake, they work perfectly for hot days, Christmas prep, or last-minute dessert emergencies.

There was one time I ate an entire packet of Oreos in about a five-minute sitting. Zak and I had only been dating a couple of months and we were supposed to be sharing the packet. I think he got one. He went to the bathroom and by the time he came back, I had very calmly inhaled the rest. He was genuinely impressed, and five years later he still brings up "the Oreo incident" anytime he wants to remind me (or brag to any of his friends) of my snack-destroying capabilities.

Why you'll love this recipe
Oreo. Classic cookies-and-cream flavour in truffle form - if you want a healthier vibe for breakfast, try my Oreo overnight oats.
Truffles. These take about 5 minutes to make and remind me why no-bake truffles are at the top of my holiday rotation - just like my biscoff truffles and lemon cheesecake balls.
Chocolatey. If you're a huge chocolate fan (same), you'll also love my Tim Tam Cheesecake Balls and Baileys Chocolate Truffles.
The easiest dessert ball ever. Minimal ingredients, no oven, no tricky steps and the flavour payoff is massive.
Ingredients

Oreos. You'll use one full packet plus the cream from a second packet inside the mixture, and then crush the remaining cookies to coat the truffles
Cream cheese. Full-fat gives the firmest texture, while reduced-fat will be softer.
Oats. These help absorb moisture and prevent the Oreo truffles from being overly sticky

Substitutions and variations
Swap regular Oreos for Golden, Mint, Double-Stuf or limited-edition flavours. This instantly changes the profile of your Oreo truffles - mint is great for Christmas, Golden Oreos make it vanilla-cheesecake-like, and Double-Stuf makes them richer.
Use mascarpone instead of cream cheese. This creates a lighter, silkier texture - more like a whipped cheesecake bite.
Skip oats and add extra Oreo crumbs. Works if you prefer a denser, creamier truffle; just know they may be softer at room temp.
How to make no bake Oreo balls

Step 1: Add one full packet of Oreos to a food processor and blitz into fine crumbs.
Then add the cream cheese, cream filling from the second packet of oreos, oats and pulse until the mixture thickens into a scoopable dough.

Step 2: Crush the remaining Oreo cookies from the second packet and place into a shallow bowl for coating.
Roll tablespoon-sized amounts of the mixture into balls and coat in the crushed Oreo crumbs.
Step 3: Chill for 20-30 minutes before serving.
Top Tip
Cream cheese texture. Warmer cream cheese makes the mixture easier to mix together but it will be too soft and harder to roll. If too hard to roll, refrigerate/freeze for 10 minutes before rolling.
Coat immediately after rolling. The warmth from your hands makes the surface slightly tacky, perfect for crushed Oreos to stick.
Double-coat for extra crunch.
Roll once, chill, then roll again for a thicker Oreo shell.
Gifting and storing
I am not a very good gift giver so I often gift my friends and family with edible gifts like no-bake truffles or cookies.
Oreo truffles are one of the easiest desserts to prep ahead because they actually improve after a little time in the fridge. Once rolled and coated, pop them into an airtight container and store in the fridge for 7 days. You could also freeze for up to 2 months.
To keep them looking neat (especially if you're planning to serve them to guests or gift them), layer the truffles between sheets of baking paper so the coatings don't smudge. If you're using chocolate coatings instead of cookie crumbs, make sure the chocolate is fully set before layering so they don't stick together.
