Leafy greens. You can use whatever combination of leafy greens for the base of this salad. There's spinach, rocket, mixed greens, lettuce, silver beat - the list goes on. Choose one ( or more ) YOU enjoy, and add it.
Prawns. You can either buy these cooked, or raw (but obviously cook them before adding to the salad). I tend to buy cooked prawns that are unpeeled - which I then peel before adding them to the salad. See how to peel prawns below.
Mango. An Australian summer classic!
Avocado. Another Aussie summer classic ingredient and goes fantastic with the prawns and mango.
Cherry Tomato. For a bit of colour!
Easy sweet chilli lime dressing ingredients
Greek yoghurt. Make sure to get the plain variety otherwise the flavour profile of the yoghurt might impact the sauce. If you don't like greek yoghurt, substitute for another plain yoghurt, or mayonnaise.
Sweet chilli. For a bit of a kick. If you're a fan of spice, feel free to add a bit of sriracha or hot sauce.
Lime. To balance the sweetness from the mango and the kick from the chilli. If you don't have lime, you can substitute for another citrus fruit like lemon or orange.

How to peel prawns
- If you've just cooked the prawns, let them cool until you're able to touch them comfortably.
- Pinch the head of the prawn between your thumb and pointer finger of one hand, pinch the body with the other hand, then twist in opposite directions until the head comes off.

- With your index finger and thumb, grab the legs and squeeze tightly until the legs come away from the shell.
- Peel the shell body up and over the body of the prawn until removed.
- Pinch the tail and pull off.
- Remove the poop shoot along the top of the body by grabbing it where the head was and pulling outward (this should remove it all the way down).
How to make an avocado rose?

Cut a firm-ripe avocado in half and peel gently to remove the skin away from the fruit. Place seed side down and smooth the surface of the avocado.

Slice thinly spacing them as evenly as possible.

Start slowly spreading the avocado out into a rectangle shape.

Fan the avocado slices out into a straight line.

Beginning at one end, gently roll up the slices as tight as possible.

Keep circling around until you get the final avocado rose.

Cold salad meal prep
Cold salad recipes are a good meal prep option for busy weeks because you don't need a microwave.
There are some tips to help the a salad meal prep stay fresh throughout the week.
- Keep the salad dressing separate from the salad. Keep both in airtight containers (you can even get a small dressing container).
- Add dressing JUST before you eat it. This will stop the salad ingredients from becoming soggy.
- Add a paper towel to the bottom of the container. This will help soak up the excess moisture from the leafy greens, helping to keep them crisp (you could also do this on the top as well).

Pinch the head where it meets the body and pull firmly to detach it. This should also remove the legs.
Use your thumb and forefinger to gently grip the shell along the back of the prawn.
Pull the shell towards the tail to remove it in one piece.
If the vein (dark line) is visible, run a small, sharp knife along its back and remove it.
No, you don't have to cook prawns for a cold salad.
Raw prawns offer a fresh, slightly sweet flavour and delicate texture. However, you need to make sure they are very fresh and very high quality (which can get quite expensive)
Cooked prawns: Add a cooked, firmer texture and richer flavour. Let them cool before adding them to the salad.
