Transform a simple avocado into a stunning edible centerpiece! With a few easy steps, you can create a beautiful avocado rose. Thinly sliced avocado is artfully arranged to mimic a blooming rose, adding a touch of elegance and vibrant colour to salads, toasts, or tapas platters. It's not only visually captivating but also a healthy and delicious way to enjoy avocado.
How to create the avocado rose?
Cut a firm-ripe avocado in half and peel gently to remove the skin from the fruit. Remove seed and place seed side down and smooth the surface of the avocado with your finger if there are any blemishes.
Slice vertically from the short end. Slice thinly and make it as even as possible. A sharp, dry knife is best for this step.
Using your finger tips, very slowly and gently spread the avocado out into a rectangle shape.
Continue spreading out to make a straight line (you want to make sure all the avocado pieces are still touching). The longer your straight line, the more curls you'll get from the avocado rose.
Beginning at the smallest end, gently roll up the slices as tightly as possible. Begin by creating the first curl (this will be the hardest) and then gradually roll around it.
Keep circling around until you get the final rose.
